The rich, erotic poetry of The Song of Solomon has inspired composers throughout the ages to write music of great beauty. In a programme of music for choir and organ spanning over 500 years The Choir of St James’ explores the ravishing repertoire that has been set to these sensuous texts. The programme includes music by Clemens, Victoria, Dupré and Casals and a world premiere performance of 'Nigra sum' by UK composer Francis Pott
