The past two months have taken us from Holy Week and Easter through to Trinity Sunday, a rich and joyous time in the church year. Musical treasures written to commemorate the death of Jesus contrasted with the joyous music of Easter Day. Music on Good Friday included Byrd’s masterwork Infelix Ego, as well as moving setting of the Lamentations by di Lasso. Easter Sunday featured Mozarts cheery Mass in D, reprised from the Orchestral Masses in January.
